While the Tulsa Police Department continues to investigate the Cori Baker disappearance, the man accused of killing the teen is trying to get out of jail.   The News On 6's Ashli Sims reports two defense motions have been filed asking that Marquis Bullock be released from the Tulsa County lockup.

Both motions claim prosecutors simply don't have enough evidence to hold the 18 year old for murder.

Bullock, who was dating Cori Baker's older sister, was arrested on November 12th.  Police say he picked Cori up from Union Alternative school on November 9th.  And, before a new witness came forward, he was the last person to see her alive.  Bullock's attorney says the prosecution's case is short on facts.

The motions argue that investigators haven't proved whether Cori Baker is actually dead, how she may have died, or any facts that would prove Marquis Bullock murdered her.

A hearing for Bullock last week was postponed, and that's another argument being the defense.  Bullock's attorney claims her client's constitutional rights have been violated.

She says the 18 year old does not have a record and was jailed for more than a month without bond before he was even charged.  Now, his preliminary hearing to determine if there's even enough evidence for Bullock to stand trial for murder has been delayed until next month.

The defense says the prosecution is on a fishing expedition for evidence.  And without hard evidence, she says Bullock should be released.

Now, the day after he was arrested, Marquis Bullock did point police to a stretch of the Arkansas River where Cori's body might have been.  But, he has never confessed to Cori's murder.
