Some Tulsa students and their teachers have reason to be proud on Tuesday. Nathan Hale High School received a plaque from the American Red Cross. The group says Nathan Hale holds blood drives more often than any other school in the state.

March is American Red Cross Month and the Tulsa chapter has some special plans. They've created "Five Dollar Fridays." That means you can get CPR or First Aid certified for just five dollars every Friday in March. And, for the first time, the Red Cross is also offering "Babysitter Boot Camp."

"If you're in charge of a younger sibling and you want to make sure you're the best trained babysitter in Tulsa, come get Red Cross certified," said the Tulsa Red Cross CEO, Mary Ogle.

The Red Cross Babysitter Boot Camp is March 18th and 19th. The training will teach how to handle emergencies, how to choose age-appropriate games, and how to safely prepare children snacks. Participants will also get CPR and First Aid training.

Officials with the Red Cross are asking for blood donations throughout the month of March because of recent low donor turnout because of the flu. For more information call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or visit the Tulsa Area Chapter American Red Cross website.
