Collision Course To Train Officers

Local cops are crashing cars in the name of science.  The Broken Arrow Police Department is hosting a two week collision investigation course for 16 Oklahoma law enforcement agencies.

Simulated crashes give the officers a chance to dissect a collision from start to finish.  It also teaches them what laws need to be better enforced to prevent more accidents.

"Traffic collisions can be life changing events.  And we want people who live in Northeastern Oklahoma to know that we are doing everything we can to make sure that if they're involved in a traffic accident have the best knowledge they can possibly have when it comes to reconstructing traffic events," said BA Police Sgt. Ed Ferguson.

The course is paid for by a federal grant.
