The American Red Cross is helping four Tulsa families displaced by fire overnight.

The fire broke out at the Lakeside Place Apartments in the 2200 block of S. 99th East Avenue.  Fire investigators say a woman was going to do some cooking, when she fell asleep.  Apparently, she regularly takes medication and became drowsy.

The woman was alerted by smoke detectors and got out safely, but the flames gutted her apartment.

There was smoke and water damage to several other apartment units as well.  Damage is estimated at $30,000.
