Two Griffin Communications Executives Promoted

Rob Krier and Regina Moon, Vice Presidents and General Managers of Griffin Communications' three television stations in Oklahoma were named Vice Presidents and Chief Operating Officers this week.

(Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) Regina Moon and Rob Krier, Vice Presidents and General Managers of Griffin Communications' three television stations in Oklahoma were named Vice Presidents and Chief Operating Officers this week. The new titles reflect their growth in assuming long-term strategic leadership of their respective companies.

"Rob and Regina have both developed from managing their television stations to strategic leadership positions," said President and Chief Executive Officer David Griffin. "They are fully responsible for building long-term value of their companies in addition to leading our efforts to distribute content over multiple platforms."

Regina Moon became the leader of The News On 6 (KOTV) in Tulsa in 2001, shortly after Griffin purchased that television station. In 2005, she assumed responsibility for a second station in Tulsa, CW12/19 (KQCW) after Griffin purchased it from Cascade Broadcasting. Moon previously held General Manager positions for stations in Missouri and Kansas. Moon is also a native Oklahoman whose hometown is Prague.

Rob Krier heads News 9 (KWTV) in Oklahoma City. Krier has worked for the company 33 years as Sales Account Executive, National Sales Manager and Director of Sales before being named to his current post in 2000. Krier is a native of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

"We are fortunate to have two outstanding leaders of dedicated employees who make both News 9 and The News On 6 consistently number one in their respective markets, and among the highest-rated television stations in the country," said Griffin. "Their leadership will help our company evolve from traditional information distribution to multi-platform distribution. We want to serve Oklahomans' information needs when they want it and over whatever device they choose-television, radio, Internet or mobile."

Griffin Communications, L.L.C. is Oklahoma owned and operated by David and Kirsten Griffin of Oklahoma City and John Griffin of Muskogee. Combined, the company's media companies cover more than 90 percent of Oklahoma households.

In addition to News 9, Griffin also owns The News On 6 (KOTV) and CW12/19 (KQCW) in Tulsa; the Radio Oklahoma Network, which is comprised of 42 radio affiliates across the state; and, Griffin New Media, focused on Griffin's Internet sites, News9.com and Newson6.com, along with information delivery to cell phones. Another division of the company, Griffin Media Solutions, works with advertisers to create cross-platform, comprehensive media campaigns. Griffin Tower Company purchases and manages towers throughout Oklahoma.

The company also has numerous strategic partnerships and alliances in the state. Griffin Communications, L.L.C. is a partner with Cox Communications in NewsNow 53, both in Oklahoma City and Tulsa with cable channel repeats of News 9 and The News On 6 newscasts 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Griffin is also a partner in Sooner Sports Properties with the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department, Learfield Communications and Renda Broadcasting. SSP owns the marketing rights to the University of Oklahoma Athletics.
