The dresses are bought and the tuxedos rented, but Meeker High School seniors have no where to go.

The students are scrambling to find a new location for their prom. Less than a month away from the big night, the students learned the prom location was shut down.

"We're worried about our senior prom," Keitlyn Keelean said. "It's the last big thing before we graduate."

Students booked the prom in September at The Venue in Shawnee. The Venue's doors closed for business after it failed a code inspection.

City officials said the building has no emergency lights, sprinklers or an alarm system.

The Venue has reimbursed the students deposit in full. The business also was providing all the decorations, so the students are without decorations as well.

Students said they're disappointed.

"It is our last year and our last prom and we don't even know if we're gonna be able to have one," Brittany Fowler said.

The seniors also said they're having a hard time booking a new location.

"We have no where to have our prom unless we have it in the parking lot or our cafeteria and we'd rather not do that," Keelean said.
