Bynum, Kates And Tay Run For District 9

G.T. Bynum, Philip Morgan Kates and Paul Tay are candidates for Tulsa City Council District 9.  There is no incumbant in the race. 

Democrat Philip Morgan Kates, 59, is a Human Resources Executive for Chart Cooler Service Company.  He has resided in District 9 for 44 years.  He ran for the City Council office in 2006.

G.T. Bynum, 30, is the Republican candidate for District 9.  He is the Director of Corporate Communications & Public Affairsfor Williams & Williams Worldwide Real Estate Auction.  He worked for the Don Nichols campaign for six years. 

Bynum is on the Board of Directors for the Tulsa Historical Society and Leadership Tulsa.  He belongs to the Rotary Club and earned his Eagle Scout in high school.  He has resided in district 9 for over 20 years.  He is married with one child.

Paul Tay, an Independent, says he runs for political office whenever he can because he believes he can represent the district and because other people take the ability to participate in the poliltical process for granted.  His family immigrated from Rangoon, Burma when he was a small child.  Find out more about him at his web site.
