The Oklahoma Department of Corrections and Muskogee County authorities have recaptured three prison escapees. The trio was discovered missing around 4 a.m. Monday during a head count at the Jess Dunn Correctional Center in Taft.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the three, identified as 27-year-old Oscar Rodriquez, 22-year-old Carlos Valladares and 28-year-old Fernando Aguilar-Gonzalez were arrested in rural Muskogee County near the intersection of state Highway 16 and state Highway 72.
The three men were discovered about 11:20 a.m. in a barn about 5 miles northeast of the prison after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol dog team discovered a blood trail left by one of the inmates, said OHP Lt. George Brown.
Prison records show Valladares serving a four-year sentence for possession of a stolen vehicle.
Aguilar-Gonzalez is serving four years for burglary, larceny, drug, alcohol and false identification crimes while Rodriquez is serving a 10-year term for drug trafficking.
