Bixby police are working to keep young drivers safe.  They've teamed up with the Oklahoma Safety Council for the "Alive at 25" program.

Car wrecks are the number one cause of death for people between the ages of 16 and 24.  By teaching defensive driving classes, officers hope to cut down on the number of young people hurt in accidents.

"All different things can happen in a car, they're playing around. Kid things, this kind of gives them ideas on why that's not safe. It gives them some information on what they can do to just become better drivers and ultimately protect themselves and their families," said Bixby Police Officer Erik Smoot.
