Husband Arrested, Accused of Killing Wife

A Pawnee County man accused of killing his wife is awaiting extradition from Florida to Oklahoma.

Major Mike Waters with the Pawnee County Sheriff's Department says 40-year-old Renee Bixler was found dead in her home near Hallett on Saturday morning.

"She was brutally beaten and possibly stabbed with a sharp object," said Major Waters.

Waters says 39-year old Mark Bixler was arrested Monday morning in Okaloosa County, Florida.  Waters says a first degree murder charge against Bixler will be presented to the Pawnee County district attorney.

It's not clear yet when Bixler could be returned to Oklahoma.
