BROKEN ARROW, Okla. -- Cale Fulps was on target. The Broken Arrow quarterback was hitting bulls eyes until a broken collar bone sidelined him seven games into the 2007 season.

"It was really a shot to my pride," Fulps said. "You work all summer and all fall, you're doing great and getting better; there's nothing you can do about a broken collar bone. The feeling of that is awful. There's nothing you can do."

Missing the final four games last season didn't sit well with the soon-to-be senior. But, his comeback tour started this summer with the Top Gun Challenge. It's a national competition that put Fulps and 14 other quarterbacks through mental and physical tests.

"There's nothing else like this. It's a one of a kind competition," Fulps said. "It's really great so you can get out in the middle of the summer when 7-on 7's are over and there's kind of a lull. It keeps you competitive and working hard."

Fulps took first place in the Top Gun Challenge. It's hopefully a sign of things to come for the Broken Arrow senior.

"It's going to be a great year. It's senior year," Fulps said. "It's the last chance to go out and win a state championship for Broken Arrow. If we stay pretty healthy, we should have a pretty good shot at beating Union in the first game and then moving on."
