Young Mayor Popular At RNC

America's youngest mayor is getting a lot of attention at the Republican National Convention.  And, he happens to be from Oklahoma.  Muskogee Mayor John Tyler Hammons is just 19 years old.

He spoke with The News On 6 via satellite on Wednesday.

"The experience has been absolutely wonderful.  I've met governors, senators, former presidential candidates, secretaries from the cabinet.  It's amazing.  And, they all want to meet me and they all want to shake my hand and get my autograph. It's amazing," said Mayor John Tyler Hammons.

Thursday is Hammons' 20th birthday.  The college freshman became Muskogee's mayor after defeating a former three-term mayor earlier this year.
