TULSA, OK -- The nation's largest provider of school photography Lifetouch Inc. says it will close its printing plant in Tulsa in March and lay off all 130 workers.

Lifetouch officials say digital photos and printing has made the school photography business more efficient and eliminated the need for the Tulsa printing plant.

"The decision to close the Tulsa plant was difficult," said Ertugrul Tuzcu, president and chief operating officer of Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Lifetouch. "We will be meeting personally with each and every employee to thank them for their years of service and to assist them through this transition."

The Tulsa plant, which opened in 1965 as Enterprise School Photos and was acquired in 1989 by Lifetouch National School Studios.

The Tulsa facility is located at 6935 East 13th Street.
