Tulsa Parents Arrested On Child Neglect Complaint

The parents were arrested on a complaint of child neglect stemming from an incident in January in which their 6-year-old accidently shot himself.

TULSA, OK -- Tulsa parents have been arrested on a complaint of child neglect stemming from an incident in January in which their 6-year-old accidently shot himself.   

Tulsa Police say Douglas Allen and Amber Jordan were at home when their son shot himself in the face while playing with a gun last month.  

The boy died in a Tulsa hospital the next day.  

A warrant was issued for the parents' arrest. Jordan, 26, was booked into jail Friday morning and was released on $25,000 bond about 2:30 p.m.

Allen, 28, was arrested about 4 p.m. and booked into jail. His bond was set at $50,000.

Police say the boy had Down Syndrome and that the gun had been stolen during a robbery a few days before.

The shooting took place in a home in the 800 block of North Troost Avenue on Jan. 21.
