Shannon Rousseau joined News On 6 in 2019 as an anchor and reporter. She comes to Oklahoma from KTTC in Rochester, Minn. where she spent three years as the weekend anchor, producer and reporter.
During her time in the north, Shannon survived three winter seasons and several blizzards with wind chills below negative 40 degrees. Some memorable stories include traveling with the White House Press Pool for President Trump’s visit to Rochester and seeing how music therapists record a patient’s heartbeat and set it to music for their family once they’ve passed.
Shannon is originally from Fort Worth, Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Radio, TV, Film with minors in Communication and Music. She originally went to school for Vocal Performance with the hope of becoming a professional opera singer, but life had other plans.
She transferred to the UNT from Dallas Baptist University to have more opportunities in music. She ultimately switched majors and pursued a film career with the goal of becoming a casting director for television and film. After taking a broadcasting course, she fell in love with news and never looked back!
Shannon is excited to join News On 6 and explore all Tulsa has to offer! When she’s not on-air you can find her taking a hike, reading a mystery novel, working out, perusing the aisles of Costco, or hanging out with her tabby cat, Mila.
