Here's what's happening across Oklahoma in the days ahead.

Scissortail Park Recurring Events:

Farmer's Market

Every Saturday from April to October, the Farmer's Market at Scissortail Park in Oklahoma City will be open for everyone to purchase local produce, arts and crafts and all sorts of goods. The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Beginning on Saturday, April 6, and continuing every other Saturday, the Farmer's Market Information Tent will also allow guests to either bring compostable materials, or take some home for your at-home gardens.

Free Fishing

At Scissortail Lake, located near Union Station in the Upper Park, there will be six days for free fishing this summer.

  1. Saturday, May 4, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  2. Saturday, May 25, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  3. Sunday, June 9, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  4. Saturday, June 22, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  5. Saturday, July 6, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  6. Sunday, July 21, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 1, there will also be a free event for children ages 5-15. All children in attendance will receive a rod and reel, tackle and bait while supplies last.

ScissorTales StoryTime

The Metropolitan Library System is inviting children to a freestory time event on Saturdays from April to October. There will be two book readings, as well as songs and the chance to play musical instruments. The event lasts from 1 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.

Exercise Classes

Beginning in April, Scissortail Park will be hosting free weekly fitness classes.

At the Love's Travel Stops Stage, yoga classes will be every Saturday at 9 a.m. Pickleball classes will be at5 the courts in Lower Scissortail every other Tuesday at 6 p.m.

High-Intensity Interval training classes will be every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., and Zumba classes will be at 9 a.m. on Saturdays at the Upper Park event pavilion.

At 8 a.m. on Thursdays and Sundays, a walking club will meet at Union Station.

Friday, May 24:

Ugandan singer-songwriter Jon Muq will be performing at Scissortail Park.

From May 24-May 26 Celebrity Comic Con Boxing will bring together stars from music, movies, and sports and let them put on the gloves and put up their dukes. Tommy Parker and Tami Erin joined News On 6 on Monday to talk about the event coming to the Lakeshore Bliss Resort on Grand Lake.

Saturday, May 25:

The Scissortail Park pickleball courts will host a pickleball tournament sponsored by the E.L. and Thelma Gaylord Foundation. The tournament lasts from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, May 31:

Scissortail Park will be hosting Pubs in the Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Organizers say sample beers and beverages from local breweries will be available, as well as food, live music and more.

Friday, June 7:

Kicking off PRIDE Month, Scissortail Park will host the June Night Market from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, June 8:

At the soccer pitch in Lower Scissortail, June 8 will be Kid's Field Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Friday, June 14:

The Wailers, known for their musical work with reggae icon Bob Marley, will be performing "A Night of One Love" for one night only at Scissortail Park.

Saturday, June 22:

Scissortail Park will be hosting International Mud Day, inviting everyone to join in and get mussy making mud pies and taking a mud bath. A clean-up station will be available.

Saturday, July 20:

The third annual Summer of Soul Night will begin at 8 p.m. at Scissortail Parl. The event will feature a collection of regional soul artists.

Friday, Aug. 9:

At 8 p.m., Scissortail park will host A Night of Oklahoma City Voices, featuring Oklahoma contestants from the NBC show, "The Voice."

Sunday, Sept. 15:

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will be performing at the Love's Travel Stops Stage & Great Lawn at Scissortail Park. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 28:

With a headliner yet to be announced, Scissortail Park will bee hosting CU in the Park, a free country-music concert for the community, at 7 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 11:

Grammy Award-winning folk rock duo the Indigo Girls will be performing at Scissortail Park. The show begins at 8 p.m.
