A 51-year-old Chelsea man was taken to a hospital by medical helicopter after he was thrown from a motorcycle in a collision.

According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, the driver of a Jeep Cherokee failed to yield to Craig Politte, who was driving a Honda Goldwing.

The crash took place about 3 p.m. on County Road 435, 3 miles north of Pryor.

OHP said 19-year-old Casey Hendrix of Sand Springs was eastbound in his Jeep on County Road 450 and failed to yield to the motorcycle, which was northbound on 435.

The motorcycle struck the Jeep in the passenger side.

Politte was admitted to St. Francis with leg injuries. His passenger, Patricia Politte, 44, was treated and released.

Hendrix was wearing a seatbelt and the Polittes were both in helmets, the report says.
