Rogers State University is helping high school students explore opportunities in STEM in a fun and informative way.
Technology Day on the Hill is an opportunity for about 60 high school students to get hands-on learning in fields like game development and AI, Drone Flight Safety and Cyber and Information Security.
Leaders at RSU said one of the goals is to show high school students that there are a lot of different career opportunities they can take advantage of.
Curt Sparling leads the Department of Technology and Justice Studies at RSU. He said students shouldn't be afraid to jump into these fields of study even if they don't know what STEM and technology degrees can do.
"Many learners are apprehensive to get into that kind of field because they are unsure of what it is and because they are scared of STEM degree programs. And this truly is going to show them that yes, you too can do this and be successful at it," Sparling said.
Technology Day on the Hill on Friday is full. But Sparling said RSU will continue to do these events in the future as long as high school students continue to show interest in the program.
