Every penny donated will go towards fighting childhood hunger through the Food for Kids programs:

  • Backpack Program – Provides nutritious, kid-friendly food for food insecure students to take home with them on Fridays after school.
  • School Pantry Program – Provides food to low-income high school and middle school students and their families through food pantries set up on school campuses.
  • Free Family Farmers’ Markets – Provide fresh produce and bakery items to low-income students and their families through a partnership with Community Action Project and their Early Childhood Development Centers and Educare sites.
  • School’s Out, Meals In – This program helps provide meals for children in high-poverty areas during extended school holidays and over summer vacation. The Food Bank’s Mobile Eatery provides ready-to-enjoy meals at various locations.
  • Community School Dinners – Provide meals for school functions including parent-teacher conferences, reading workshops and back-to-school nights. Their goal is to help increase participation in after school events and help create a sense of community between families and school faculty.
  • After School Fuel – Offers healthy meals to kids for after school. The program currently includes hot meals and Super Snack meals - nutritious, shelf-stable meals.
  • Summer Feeding Program – Hunger-Free Summer – Over summer break, the Food Bank’s Culinary Center will produce thousands of meals and distribute them to various feeding sites with the help of AmeriCorps Members.
