What's A Good Resource For Tulsa Events?
By Rick Wells, The News On 6
TULSA, OK -- There seems to be more places hosting more special events, making it more difficult to keep track of what's happening and when.
Tammy from Tulsa asks, "What's a good resource to find out what's going on in Tulsa?"
One comprehensive site is hard to find, but here are some of Rick Wells' favorites:
"Kind of developed more out of a love for Tulsa, wanting it to do what it could do with its potential," said Nathan Presley of Townzy.com.
Nathan Presley and Nick Bright are a couple of young Tulsans who believe there's room for a site which answers a few simple questions.
"Like, what is it? Where? What time and how much? Give me a link to a map," said Presley.
They say they'll leave the blogging about events and venues to others. They just want a simple, complete calendar.
"Taking all the events in Tulsa, dropping it in an organizer and it organizes by time and by location," said Presley.
They said, like many Tulsans, they always wished they lived in a more exciting city. Then, the more they looked, the more exciting things they found right here at home. The new web site is designed to help the rest of us find the good stuff too.
Wells asked them if it would be old guy, like him, friendly.
"Yeah, it's more of a tool than a website," said Nick Bright of Townzy.com.
The site is not finished yet. It'll be another month.
In the meantime, they've created Facebook and Twitter updates of daily events to sort of whet our appetites for the complete site to come.
Another resource is Up Late with Ben Sumner which airs on the CW 12/19 on Saturday nights.
