TULSA, OK -- Kids are getting ready for school with a new look. It's the 17th year for the Barber Cut Off. The event was held Sunday at 1120 East Pine.
Kids from across Tulsa got a free haircut.
More than 100 barbers and stylists volunteered their time and talents to give the kids a confidence boost before they head back to class.
"It's a beautiful thing to see the smiles on their faces knowing that they are somebody special. You know, just knowing that even if it's just a hairstyle but just knowing... I love that," said Janice Kelley, a hair stylist.
Organizers estimate nearly 3,000 kids attended this year's event.
