TULSA, OK -- A 95-year-old woman is recovering after being attacked in her own home over the weekend.  Tulsa Police say Sylvia Vowell was sleeping when she was beaten and robbed early Saturday morning.

Tulsa Police say 51-year-old Danny Wilson broke into Vowell's home in the 4000 block of West Zenith through the front door. They say he made his way to a bedroom where she was sleeping.

Police say Wilson began assaulting Vowell while demanding money and guns. Police records show that he eventually took a coin purse, a BB gun, and a $100 bill. He's even accused of taking a large flat screen TV off the wall and leaving it on the front porch.

After Wilson left Vowell called a neighbor who called police.

Investigators eventually found Wilson two blocks away and placed him under arrest.

Police records call Wilson a significant threat to the community and cite his long criminal record that dates to 1983 and includes assault, burglary, and fraud to name a few. Tulsa Police believe Wilson was looking for another home to break into when he was caught.

"No other houses were broken into. There was, however, several houses that appear to have been cased as possible burglary targets from which we obtained the information on the suspect who was casing the houses, ringing doorbell," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Michael Brown.

Sylvia Vowell is currently in the hospital, but a neighbor tells The News on 6 that he believes she did not suffer any serious injuries.
