STILLWATER, OK -- With classes underway in college and universities across Oklahoma, many campuses are dealing with the H1N1 virus.

For example, Oklahoma State University spokesman Gary Shutt in Stillwater says at least 95 students have been treated for the virus since last month.

Classes have just begun for the fall semester and already OSU students in Stillwater are missing class.

There are growing concerns the disease may spread across campus and with no swine flu shot available, it has many students taking extra precautions to stay healthy.

OSU administrators are urging all students showing signs of the flu to stay home until they no longer have a fever without the help of medication.

OSU is working with health officials to educate students on how to avoid getting the flu. Students say it's really all about common sense.

"Washing my hands a lot.  I'm not touching my eyes. They say not to do that," said Sydney Shoghi, OSU student.

"Just being careful not to drink after other people. Not use water fountains. My own water," said OSU student Taylor Eves.

Shutt says students still are being reminded to take precautions such as frequent hand washing and seeking treatment if they feel sick.

OSU says out of 95 cases, only 20 cases are still active.

They also say with the seasonal flu not active right now, every case of the flu is considered to be the H1N1 virus, even though the state Health Department is no longer directly testing for the disease.
