TULSA, OK -- A portion of Lewis Street in Tulsa is closed to traffic after a water main break Wednesday afternoon that has caused a portion of the road to collapse.
City of Tulsa officials say a 40-inch water line in the 1400 block of North Lewis broke causing the damage to the street and a nearby sidewalk. Officials expect repairs to take several days.
Meanwhile, East Pine Street has been closed because of a broken 16-inch water line.
The water line broke Tuesday afternoon and City of Tulsa officials say East Pine between North Gary Avenue and North Gary Place will remain closed for 7 to 10 days while city crews repair the water line and damage to the street.
Officials say motorists should take an alternate route instead of Pine Street between North Lewis Avenue and North Harvard Avenue.
