TULSA, OK -- A 29-year-old bartender is having surgery Tuesday to repair her face after a customer viciously attacked her. She's shocked by what happened, because she and several others knew the man and easily identified him.

Cheryl is a single mother of a little boy who just started kindergarten. The attack was so bad, she was in critical condition and spent four days in the hospital. The guy who did it took money from her purse and the cash register.

Now, Tulsa Police want to find the man.

Cheryl's mom owns the Chatter Box, a neighborhood bar on 11th Street in Tulsa. It was closing time a week ago Sunday and she was cleaning up, while the last customer used the restroom.

When he came out, he attacked her, splitting her skull with a pool cue, then hitting her over and over.

"I don't have no feeling all through this here and just now, can open my mouth wide enough to where I can actually eat food," said Cheryl, an assault victim.

The man didn't realize Cheryl had called her mom for a ride, who only lived a few minutes away. Cheryl stumbled to the front door and fell out, just as her mother arrived. It no doubt saved her, because the man had torn off Cheryl's pants and was trying to drag her back inside.

"I thought he was going to kill me. I just thank God I got to the front door when I did and my mom was there, because if not, I think he would've killed me," said Cheryl.

Cheryl and her mother identified the man as Shane Motley. They say he'd been a customer at the bar before, along with some of his family.

Cheryl's family and friends have put up flyers with his picture.

They also held a benefit to help Cheryl with expenses, since she doesn't have medical insurance to cover her fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, stitches and a crushed sinus cavity that now requires surgery.

"It's hard, really hard, but, I'm gonna get through it. It's just gonna take time. I want him caught. I want to see him punished and go down, that's the biggest thing on my mind," said Cheryl.

Cheryl's family heard rumors Motley hopped a bus to Georgia, but also heard he was spotted recently near Fifth and Birmingham. They believe he is still in town and someone knows where.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. They could get a cash reward up to $1,000.
