OKMULGEE COUNTY -- A 15-year-old Okmulgee girl died in a car crash following a pursuit by the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office. Kylie Barnett was a passenger in a car that crashed and caught fire at about 3:27 a.m. Wednesday on old U.S. Highway 75 at Celia Berryhill Road in Okmulgee County.

The driver, 16-year-old Jonathan Deere, and another passenger, 14-year-old Breanna White, both also from Okmulgee, were pulled from the burning car by a Sheriff's Deputy. Both were admitted in critical condition in St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Deputy Tyson Fuqua was on patrol on Highway 75a near Okmulgee when he noticed the white four-door sedan traveling north bound commit a traffic infraction, according to a release by the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Department.

"Deputy Fuqua immediately initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and the vehicle attempted to elude him at high rates of speed," the release states.

"The white sedan accelerated to a high rate of speed in a short time and pulled ahead of Deputy Fuqua, where it then left the roadway and crashed into a tree and caught fire."

Fuqua was able to pull the driver and one passenger out of the burning vehicle. Barnett was pinned in the vehicle. She died at the scene of massive injuries.

Deere was transported to the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital with head, trunk and leg injuries. He was later transferred to St. Francis in Tulsa in critical condition.  The second passenger, 14-year-old Breanna White of Okmulgee was also transferred to St. Francis from Okmulgee in critical condition.
