TULSA, OK – A Tulsa school is adding outreach to its lesson plan.

Students at Evangelistic Temple School are taking part in a serv-a-thon this fall. They get sponsored to do reach-out projects at local charities.

On Monday, freshmen and sophomores helped do some organizing at the Habitat Store on South Norwood.

The superintendent says it's an important lesson in giving.

"Trying to be a service to our community. Help them not be so inwardly focused, but be focused more outwardly," said Randy Fulmer, Evangelistic Temple.

Each grade helps a different charity, even the Pre-K students helped by collecting teddy bears for the Child Abuse Network.
