TULSA, OK -- A state lawmaker wants to change the law in response to a Tulsa County District Court judge's decision to reduce a prison sentence for a man convicted of murder.

On Thursday, Judge William Kellough overruled a jury's sentencing recommendation for Larry Neeley from life in prison to 12 years in prison.

Neeley was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's 19-month-old son.

Representative Mike Ritze, a Republican from Broken Arrow, says he's considering legislation that would change the law that allowed Judge Kellough to lower the sentence.

Ritze is also considering legislation that would remove judges from the bench if they lower sentences on a consistent basis.

He has until December 11th to decide what bill to present.
