TULSA, OK -- Hundreds of Tulsa area streets are still covered in ice Monday, especially side streets and neighborhood streets.

City of Tulsa and Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials say crews are making progress, but it is slow going.

Interstates and highways are mostly clear across the state, but ODOT says you should still be alert for icy patches, particularly black ice.

Across the city of Tulsa, many streets are still snow packed and officials say crews are out working as hard as they can.

Officials say the main priority for crews is the city's arterial streets.

Meanwhile, state snow plow crews focused on clearing the highways first, so ODOT says some on and off ramps remain slippery Monday.

The city of Tulsa says residential trash service may be affected by icy road conditions in neighborhoods until conditions improve.  Customers whose trash was not picked up should put it at the curb on their next scheduled service day.

Trash will not be picked up on Friday, January 1, in observance of the New Year's Day holiday. Curbside recycling customers, however, will receive service and should put their containers at the curb on Friday, January 1.

In a news release, customers in northwest Tulsa whose trash is picked up once a week on Fridays should put their trash at the curb on Saturday, January 2. Customers scheduled for twice-a-week collection on Fridays and Tuesdays should put their trash at the curb on Tuesday, January 5.
