OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahomans can use a new Web site to check if their insurance company has verified their auto policy with the state, public safety officials announced Tuesday.
The Oklahoma Tax Commission and tag agents use the state's verification system to check on motorists auto insurance policy when they buy or renew tags. Law enforcement agencies also use the system to look up insurance policy for traffic stops or crash investigations.
The new site, www.dps.state.ok.us/insver/, allows users to check their policy is in the system.
Department of Public Safety officials said checking to make sure insurance policies are in the verification system can save Oklahomans time when registering their vehicles.
