DA Clears Tulsa Officer Involved In Fatal Shooting

TULSA, OK -- The Tulsa Police Department says the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office has decided that an officer's actions during a fatal shooting incident last month were justified.

On February 26th, Officer Troy Still shot and killed a man during a domestic disturbance call in the 1000 block of North Florence Place.

After interviewing a female victim, Officer Still and Officer Chris Elliot determined a crime had been committed so they attempted to handcuff the suspect, Nathaniel Rowe. 

Police say a violent struggle ensued in which Rowe put his hands on Officer Elliott's pistol and attempted to remove it from the holster. 

Both officers say they ordered Rowe to stop, but instead he pulled the holster out of Officer Elliott's grasp. 

Fearing Rowe would pull the weapon from its holster, Officer Still shot Rowe twice. 

The victim in the original domestic disturbance call told News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright she believes the officers saved her life.
