SH-251A Narrows Over Ft. Gibson Dam

NEAR MUSKOGEE, OK -- SH-251A over the Ft. Gibson dam will be closed intermittently Friday and Saturday in preparation for a three-year-long Corps of Engineers rehabilitation project.

Both directions of the highway over the dam will be narrowed to one lane at 9 a.m. Monday through mid-2013. Temporary stop lights will be in place to direct traffic.

Vehicles wider than 10 feet will be restricted from the highway. Message boards are in place in Ft. Gibson, Okay and Hulbert to provide traffic with alternate routes that can be taken.

Although temporary closures are expected on the remaining lane, they are planned to last less than 15 minutes. Flaggers will be in place to assist traffic during those times.
