Pawnee Officer Shoots, Kills Suspect

PAWNEE, OK -- A burglary suspect is dead after an assistant police chief shot him.

Pawnee Police say the man attacked officers inside a building and stabbed Pawnee Assistant Chief Calvin Brown in the face.

They say that's when Brown shot and killed the 25-year-old suspect, James. D. Gonzalez.

Police say Brown received two lacerations across his face. The injuries were not life-threatening.

Brown is on routine paid leave during the investigation.
