The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning across several Green Country counties until 9 p.m. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was reported in the Kellyville area shortly before 8 p.m. and is moving through south Tulsa County.

So far the storm is producing rain, intense lightning and strong winds. Pea-sized hail and updraft winds are being reported in southern Tulsa County, parts of Creek, Okmulgee and Wagoner Counties. So far no tornadoes have been reported.

Some locations in the or near the path of the storm include Kellyville, Mounds, Sapulpa, Kiefer, Glenpool, Jenks, Bixby, Leonard, Hectorville, Liberty and Tulsa.

People in those areas should be prepared to take cover.

"Be prepared and pay attention to the weather," said News On 6 Chief Meteorologist Travis Meyer.

There is also a strong possibility for flash flooding. Green Countries residents should stay off the roads if at all possible.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Authorities say one person was slightly injured and power lines were knocked down when a severe storm moved through Kingfisher County.

Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis says the tornado touched down briefly in an open area one to two miles northwest of Hennessey Wednesday afternoon. Loftis said later a semi overturned about five miles north of Kingfisher, and the driver was transported non-emergency to a nearby hospital.

Loftis said power lines also were toppled near Loyal, where a tornado was reported earlier, and the town of Kingfisher was without power.

Kingfisher is about 45 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.

The National Weather Service also reported a tornado touching down near Leedey.

Several tornadoes touched down in Oklahoma on Wednesday as another round of severe weather developed across the state.

The National Weather Service reported tornadoes near Leedey in Dewey County, near Douglas in Garfield County, near Marshall in Logan County and near Loyal and Hennessey in Kingfisher County.

There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

A tornado watch was issued for 44 counties in western and central Oklahoma until late Wednesday.

The storms were part of a second wave of severe weather that rolled across the state. Earlier in the day, one person was hurt during a severe thunderstorm in far northern Oklahoma, and several tornadoes were reported in the northwest.

A truck driver was injured when straight-line winds blew over a semi trailer on Interstate 35 near Tonkawa, about 20 miles south of the Kansas state line, said Michelann Ooten, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman.

The driver was taken to a local hospital and his condition was not known, Ooten said. Two other semi trailers also were blown over on the interstate, she said.

Strong thunderstorms that moved into north-central Oklahoma later Wednesday morning produced straight-line winds with gusts up to 60 mph and small hail, said Daryl Williams, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Norman.

Those storms dumped up to three inches of rain that caused minor flooding in Tonkawa around 6 a.m., Ooten said.

"Emergency management officials told us they also had about 20 minutes of pea to nickel sized hail and high winds," she said.

A tornado touched down briefly Wednesday afternoon in an open area one to two miles northwest of Hennessey, about 60 miles northwest of Oklahoma City, Kingfisher County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis said.

A tornado also was reported near Barnett in Ellis County just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The tornado was on the ground for only a few seconds and no injuries or damage were reported, said Emergency Management Director Russell Miller.

Two brief touchdowns were also reported Tuesday night near Guymon, according to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, Texas.

The storm left about 3,300 Tonkawa residents without power for about three hours, Ooten said.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric listed 151 customers without power Wednesday afternoon, after reporting about 3,350 outages at the height of the storm.

Authorities say there have been no reports of injuries or damage from an apparent tornado that touched down near Hennessey in north-central Oklahoma.

Kingfisher County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis says the tornado touched down briefly in an open area one to two miles northwest of Hennessey Wednesday afternoon. Loftis says crews are checking an area east of the town, located about 60 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.

The storm was part of a round of severe weather that developed over the state on the heels of an earlier wave that produced several tornadoes and storms with strong, straight-line winds.

The National Weather Service also reported a tornado touching down near Leedey.
