TULSA, OK -- Dozens of Tulsa high school students will get a jump on college next fall.

Tulsa Public Schools is opening the door for more students to get ahead.

More than 90 soon to be seniors took a tour of Tulsa Community College's northeast campus at Apache and Harvard. Next year, the students will enroll in a college course, while still attending high school.

It's not a new program but at times, the costs prevented students from participating.

"Now we have those things covered for them. So now most of our students who are on free and reduced lunch can take a college course on their campus at no cost to the student," said Vicki Simmons, TPS Concurrent Enrollment.

TPS partnered with foundations and private donors to pay for the students' activity fees and their textbooks.

All nine of the district's high schools are taking part.
