OKLAHOMA CITY -- A family of five with one on the way was devastated by Thursday's flooding in the Capital Hill, but one Oklahoman exemplified the Oklahoma standard by stepping in to help.

Isela Martinez is trying to take stock of what she lost in Thursday's floods, but there's not much she can salvage after rushing water saturated her home.

"I mean it's just soaked, everything's just soaked," Martinez said. "All this stuff was floating everywhere."

Most of the furniture is ruined, including the crib she had waiting for the baby she is expecting.

"It's just not going to work. I don't think after it's been so soaked up," Martinez said.

The family has had to rip out the carpets and are trying to drip dry the rugs. The family said they have lived in their home for two years and can't believe their bad luck.

"We were like there's, no way. We've never been flooded. It doesn't happen right here. Thought no way," Martinez said.

To add insult to injury, their home had just been broken into the week before.

"It kind of sucks, but we need to just keep going," Martinez said.

But luckily a NEWS 9 viewer saw the Martinez's story and wanted to do something to help. Peggy had a brand new crib she wasn't using and wanted to give it the family.

"Oh my God, that's so sweet," Martinez said.

The Martinez family is packing up what they can and moving out of the flood ravaged home. They said they plan to move into a new home, but for now they are staying with friends.
