MOORE, Oklahoma – The Cleveland County District Attorney has declined to file charges against the mother who left her child in a hot car outside a store in Moore last week.

The mother admitted she left her 10-month-old child in a car outside a JC Penney while she shopped for an hour. She told police she didn't realize what she'd done until she got back into the car and heard the child whimpering.

The child was rushed to the hospital with a temperature of 102 degrees. The baby's condition is not known.

Moore Police said the district attorney did not file charges against the mother because there's no indication she intentionally left the child in the car.
