TULSA, Oklahoma -- Voters across the Sooner State were out in mass Tuesday.  State election officials said they saw a steady stream of voters showing up at polling places across the state.

Early-bird voters seemed to face the longest lines, but most seemed to take the wait, and the complicated ballot, in stride.

"Not too bad, I did see a line. I guess I am going to have to wait a little bit. But that's ok," said Eric Pewthers.

Oklahoma voters will choose the state's first female governor as well as decide eleven state questions, on controversial issues like education funding and Islamic law.

"It was a bit convoluted and yes, had I not prepared for it, it would have taken a lot longer," one voter said.

"I had already written down who I was going to vote for before I came, so it was pretty quick," Pat Campbell said.

Gubernatorial candidates Jari Askins and Mary Fallin both worked to get to as many undecided voters as they could on Tuesday.

We caught up with Mary Fallin Tuesday morning at Deer Creek Middle School where she cast her vote. After that it was off to the GOP headquarters in Oklahoma City to meet with volunteers.

Democratic candidate Jari Askins voted in Duncan at around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Askins, along with Fallin, was in Tulsa Tuesday afternoon.  Both were expected to return to Oklahoma City Tuesday evening.

News On 6 will have news crews at Mary Fallin's watch party and Jari Askins' watch party to get reaction from the candidates when the votes do start coming in.  Both watch parties are in Oklahoma City.
