TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa police released the names of the two teenagers found shot dead in a Tulsa street overnight Sunday. Dead are Michael Matthews and Keandre Miller, both 18.

The two teens were shot in the head, their bodies discovered in the street by a passerby.

Tulsa police say the murder victims were found just after 11 p.m. Saturday on Frankfort Avenue near 59th Street North. They had no identification on them.

"It really appears to be a gang-related thing based on the tattoos on them," he said. "We're trying to identify them and develop suspects," said Captain Shawn King of the Tulsa Police Department.

A gang officer on the scene identified the tattoos, although King said he did not know with which gangs the tattoos are associated.

The bodies were in the middle of the street in front of a boarded up house, he said. Police were waiting for the medical examiner's office to learn an approximate time of death. No gunshots had been reported in the area.

"They were obviously brought up here for a purpose; it really appears that way," King said. "It's kind of common to hear gunshots in the area, so it's probably nothing out of the ordinary for people in this neighborhood."

A person of interest was questioned and released in the homicides. They have no additional suspects at this time.

If you have any information that can help police in this case, call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS. Callers remain anonymous.
