OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police arrested a 25-year-old mother after finding her passed out in the frozen food section of a southwest Oklahoma City grocery store.
Employees at the Buy For Less on 2701 S.W. 29th Street called police on the afternoon of November 4. They reported a woman who appeared to be drunk had come into the store with her three young children, and then passed out.
When the officer arrived, he found 25-year-old Kimberly Williams asleep in the frozen food section. Her children, all under the age of seven, were sitting nearby on the ground. The officer said he revived Williams, and detected a strong order of alcohol on her breath. He also noted she had slurred speech and could not stand.
The officer then asked the children if their mother was okay. He said one of them stated that Williams "gets like this every day." When he asked Williams if the children's father could come pick them up, she told him the man was in an Oklahoma prison.
The officer notified the Department of Human Services to take custody of the children. He then arrested Williams and booked her into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of public drunkenness and causing a minor to be in need of supervision.
