Tulsa Woman Shoots Boyfriend, Claims Self-Defense

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa woman claimed self-defense after shooting her boyfriend early Saturday, according to Tulsa Police. The shooting took place at about 4 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Garrison Court.

The woman told police she was being choked by her boyfriend when she grabbed a gun and shot him in the torso, according to Sergeant Robert Rohloff of the Tulsa Police Department. Police have been dispatched to the same address in the past for reports of domestic disturbances.

The boyfriend was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to recover. The girlfriend had not been arrested as of Saturday morning.
