TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police say a 19-year-old teenager was killed in a crash on a Tulsa highway Monday evening.
The wreck happened at about 8:30 p.m. on U.S. Highway 169 near 21st street.
Tulsa Police said the driver, identified as Kurtis Keener was headed south on Highway 169 when his vehicle went off the road, hit a light pole and crashed through a sound barrier wall. Officials said the car burst into flames after the crash, killing the driver.
"We are still in our investigation stage at this point," said R.K. Fallis, an Advanced Traffic Investigator with the Mingo Valley Division. "We don't have any witnesses, so we're having to look for what's happened on the roadway."
Police still haven't determined what caused the driver to lose control and leave the highway.
