TULSA, Oklahoma -- Christmas is over, but the shopping has just begun.

The day after Christmas is typically among the ten biggest-volume retail days of the year. And this year is one of the best showings retailers have seen in a while.

For those willing to brave the cold and the crowds, there are several day after Christmas sales.

"Well Christmas was fabulous and we are just out seeing the after Christmas bargains," said Tulsa shopper Melissa Hughes.

Those bargains range from 30 percent, to 50 percent off, even as high as 75 percent discounts.

"Our husbands were wanting some Christmas lights for outside and that's really our purpose in coming," said shopper Linda DeFrees.

The Tulsa Hills Target store has seen an increase this year in the number of shoppers piling through the doors.

"Business is great. Guests are spending all their gift cards, all the money they got for the holidays. They're coming in and shopping for the after Christmas sales, as you can see, the 50% off the season merchandise we have," said Target Manager Shaun Henderson.

The Stephens each got $30 gift cards for Christmas.

"All these games, ha-ha. We want all these games, but we can't get them all," said Mya Stephens.

They love waiting for December 26th.

"I got some gift cards before Christmas, but the best thing to do is wait until after Christmas. Even though some stuff is gone, they're trying to get rid of everything so it's always best to wait till then," said Mya Stephens.

Some of the best deals out there are on electronics and shoppers are taking their pick at Best Buy.

"Home theater, well that's going to start picking up now because you have the Super Bowl coming up and all those great bowl games. Cameras have been really hot, especially the SLRs and of course you have your tablets, like the iPad is always the big thing," said Brian Dockum, Best Buy Digital Expert.

The National Retail Federation estimates that Americans have spent more than $451 billion on holiday shopping this year.

That's up 3.3 percent from last year and nearly tops 2007's record... and there's still a week left of shopping.

Many bargain hunters are taking advantage of the deals from home.

According to the National Retail Federation, shoppers have spent more than $36 billion buying online this season, driven by deep discounts and free shipping.
