TULSA, Oklahoma -- A dispute between two men turned violent in a convenience store parking lot Monday.

It happened in the 2500 block of East Mohawk just before 2 p.m.

Police say a man pulled out a gun and shot the other man 5 times in the stomach and lower body in broad daylight. The victim was transported  to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police say both the shooter and the victim are men in their early 20's. They are not sure what the men were arguing about.

The shooting remains under investigation, but investigators say incidents like this are not that uncommon this time of year.

"Sometimes the holidays push people over the edge," said Tulsa Police Cpl Phil Snow.

TPD says there were several witnesses, but no one was caught in the crossfire.

That was not the case last week during this drive-by shooting at a convenience store at 54th street north and Peoria.

Police say the gunmen, who also may have been driving a black Cadillac, opened fire with a semi-automatic weapon.

He hit two boys, a five and two-year-old.

"The father may have had a problem with the person that was shooting at him. And I guess he saw him up there and started shooting," said Tulsa Police Sgt Dedlorn Sanders.

While no one was killed in either incident, police hope this trend of shooting in broad daylight ends with the holiday season.
