JENKS, Oklahoma -- Jenks East Intermediate has been named the most positive school in the world.

The announcement was made Thursday morning at the school during an assembly program.

School officials say East Intermediate was named as the recipient of the 2010 United Nations NGO Positive Peace Award.

Along with students and school officials, representatives from the United Nations and Rotary International were in attendance Thursday.

Special guests included Wallace Williams, District Governor of Rotary 6110, Oklahoma State Representative Jeannie McDaniel, and Colonel Anthony Funkhouser, Army Corps of Engineers.  The assembly was followed by a reception.
