TULSA, Oklahoma -- Someone opened fire on a group of Tulsa residents who were coming back from Sapulpa overnight Sunday.

Tulsa police say several rounds were fired into a vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 44 between Riverside and Peoria at about 4:30 a.m. A bullet struck one of the rear seat passengers, a 20-year-old man, in the back.

The group drove to an apartment complex near 52nd and Utica where they called police and ambulance services.

The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital where he is expected to survive his injury. Police had no suspect or suspect vehicle information.

"We have very little to go on," said Tulsa Police Corporal Mark Secrist.
