Smoldering Wood Chip Fire West Of Sand Springs Extinguished

SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Sand Springs and Keystone Fire responded to a fire at mulch pile on 209^th West Avenue just north of U.S. Highway 412 early Tuesday morning. 

The wood chip pile was from the 2007 ice storm. 

Fire officials had to get help from a contractor to help extinguish the smoldering fire. 

Officials say the fire most likely started by itself.
