HASKELL, Oklahoma -- No one died or was seriously injured when Tuesday night's storms blew into Green Country, but the powerful winds took their toll.

Daylight was bittersweet for Haskell residents. They weathered the storm, but saw the damage it left behind.

"We noticed, 'hey, our barns are gone,'" Matt Stephens said.

The Stephens family spent the day corralling the mess that used to be their barn.

"It was more of an awning and the wind picked it up and moved it over here. It lifted the whole concrete up and everything," Stephens said.

No one was hurt and Stephens knows it could have been worse.

"It's pretty bad," he said. "I mean it's just stuff, luckily everyone is okay. So I guess it's manageable."

Across the road, a mobile home is hard to recognize. The couple had lived here since 1998 and they went down to a storm cellar with their 12-year-old daughter.

The nearly 100 mile per hour winds tossed planes around like toys at the airport in Haskell. Some buildings and hangars were also damaged.

Elsewhere in Haskell, roof damage was the biggest headache. Missing shingles and splintered wood left huge holes in the homes, then the rain arrived.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe it happened to us. No one ever thinks that they are going to get hit," Stephens said.
