KANSAS CITY, Missouri -- Oral Roberts had very little trouble in its regular season finale 89-72 win over UMKC Saturday. The victory marks the fifth-straight for ORU.
Michael Craion had a game-high 22 off the bench for the Golden Eagles.
ORU had four starters in double-figures. Dominique Morrison had 17 points; Kevin Ford scored 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds, while Niles Warren and Ken Holdman added 13 and 11, respectively.
Oral Roberts (19-12, 13-5) used a 16-4 run in the first half to take a 28-17 lead. UMKC (12-17, 6-12) was able to cut the deficit to five points with less than 2:30 remaining in the first half. But the Golden Eagles scored the last six points of the half to take a 44-33 advantage into halftime.
The Golden Eagles opened the second half on a 9-2 run to go up 53-38. The Kangaroos got as close as 60-52 midway through the second half, but were not able to get any closer.
Trey McKinney-Jones led UMKC with 17 points.
The Golden Eagles open play as the number three seed in the Summit League Tournament against either North Dakota State or Western Illinois, 8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
