TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Arkansas Travelers snapped Tulsa’s three-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory over the Drillers Friday.
Kevin Ramos and Andrew Romine scored on back-to-back plays in the top of the third to give Arkansas a 2-0 lead. Romine would drive in another run in the fourth to put the Travelers on top 3-0.
The Drillers answered back in the bottom of the fourth. Charles Blackmon crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly to give Tulsa its first run of the game. Jason Van Kooten scored in the fifth to bring the Drillers within one run.
But the Drillers never advance a runner past first base after the fifth inning. Tulsa managed just three hits and no Drillers player had a multi-hit game.
Christian Friedrich (0-5) was tagged with the loss after giving up three runs (two earned) in seven innings.
Ryan Braiser (5-6) allowed just two earned runs in seven innings to gain the victory.
The two teams play a day-night doubleheader Saturday. The first game is scheduled for a 12:05 p.m. start time, while the first pitch of the nightcap is slated for 7:05 p.m.
